B-122: Monofilament Bundle Cutter
Machine for cutting PP/PET/PVC/PBT/PA monofilament hanks produced by extrusion lines into bundles having a specific length.
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The loading of the monofilament hank is manual. Cut bundles are then moved onto a conveyor by a tip-up system. The offloading can be manual (bundles are picked up from the conveyor as it stays idle) or automatic (as the conveyor moves them left or right).
FEATURES
The machine is arranged with 11 cutting heads by default, which can be extended up to 25. The length of the bundles, depending on the number of cuts and on the length of the monofilament hank that is loaded into the machine, is determined by the adjustment of the position of the cutting heads. The adjustment is even faster than in the past, due to the new rapid head clamping system with locking levers, to the handwheels installed for shifting the heads and also to the special spacers which are used to determine the exact distance between two heads, depending on the desired length of the bundles to be produced. A scale is also provided for fast visual reference. For an easy setting of the machine, it has been provided with a color touch-screen HMI: the number of cuts to be performed can be selected directly from the operator’s panel, through the activation of each single cutting head, as well as the activation/deactivation of the offloading conveyor. The management of cutting heads is fully automated and is operated through the HMI: it allows fast product changeover when switching to bundles with lengths which are multiple than the actual (i.e. double, triple and so on) by simply excluding some of the heads in the middle through the dedicated touch buttons on screen. Tests of the movements can be performed via the HMI (manual controls). Also when replacing worn knives and/or counter-knives, the operator is fully assisted in every step by the software of the machine.
OPTIONS
Additional cutting heads can be added upon request.
